May 1, 2021 Fundraiser

Dear Members,

We hope everyone is doing well and staying safe. The Hawthorne Historical Society’s general meetings continue to be postponed until safer times. However, the executive officers have been planning a fundraiser to take place on May 1. And we need your help.

We are calling all thespians! On Saturday May 1 (halfway to Halloween), we will be holding a historical walk around Arnold’s Pond. We are creating one-page sketches for about 8 true people who lived in Hawthorne, who will be in character and tell their shocking, and sometimes creepy stories, such as Jane Van Winkle, who was murdered in 1850.

As we get closer, we will also share a flyer with you that we hope you will share with others.
