George Washington Visits Hawthorne
HAWTHORNE HISTORICAL SOCIETY HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE FEATURES “GEORGE WASHINGTON”
Hawthorne, NJ – “George Washington” addressed a crowd of about 40 people at the Louis Bay 2nd Library last night, the featured speaker at the Hawthorne Historical Society’s Holiday Open House. Hawthorne resident Rodger Yaden, who bears a striking resemblance to our nation’s first president, dressed in character as George Washington, and spoke on the history of Hawthorne during Colonial Times.
The audience was treated to some inside information about Washington, including about his love of dance, his temperament, and the truth about chopping down the cherry tree.
The Hawthorne Historical Society meets on the second Monday of each month at 7p at the Louis Bay 2nd Library. All are welcome.
