Oil Painting Presentation

HAWTHORNE HISTORICAL SOCIETY DEDICATES OIL PAINTING BY LOCAL ARTIST

Hawthorne, NJ – On Wednesday December 11th an oil painting was presented by the Hawthorne Historical Society to Passaic County at the two hundred-year-old John W Rea house. Freeholder director John W Bartlett along with Kelly C Ruffle Director of the Passaic County Department of cultural and historical Affairs received the oil painting of John W Rea from the Hawthorne historical society’s president Al Ianacone.

The highlight of the event was a lecture on the house and John Rea by Passaic County historian Edward A Smyk. Also the local artist who painted the portrait Tina Stonefield ishihara was present and spoke about her efforts. In the attached photo left to right Bartlett Ruffle Ishihara Smyk

The Hawthorne Historical Society meets on the second Monday of each month at 7p at the Louis Bay 2nd Library. All are welcome.
