Hawthorne Historical Society to hold 2nd Annual Holiday Open House
The Hawthorne Historical Society will hold its second annual Holiday Open House at the Louis Bay II Library on Monday, December 10, at 7 PM. This year, the event will feature the premiere screeening of the Historical Society’s “Oral History Project Documentary.”
Earlier this year, the Society invited current and former Hawthorne residents to be videotaped speaking about their long-time memories of the borough. Presenters were also invited to bring pictures and other memorabilia to enhance their presentation.
Filming took place this summer at the Library, and the event was a huge success, culminating in the creation of a 30-minute video documentary that will be screened for the first time at this year’s Holiday Open House. Copies of the video will also be available for purchase.
Refreshments will be served. All residents and friends are welcome to attend.
The Hawthorne Historical Society meets the second Monday of every month at 7p at the Louis Bay 2nd library and community center. All are welcome. For further information contact Jeff Gardner at 973-951-7081.
